I believe in Sunday mornings – I believe in moonlit skies
And I believe I can see the hope in a new born baby’s eyes
And I believe this old world’s hurtin’ – but a new day’s dawnin’ bright
I just can’t believe you’re in my arms tonight
I believe in country music – and I believe in rock & roll
And I believe that love can turn a man’s heart into gold
I believe the moment’s magic when you turn and smile so right
I just can’t believe you’re in my arms tonight
I can’t believe – you’re in my arms – I can’t believe – you feel so right
I can’t believe – baby, I just can’t believe
I believe in second chances – I believe The Golden Rule
And I believe what The Good Book says – I believe in me and you
And I believe in all the lessons that our daddies taught were right
I just can’t believe you’re in my arms tonight
And I believe in freedom – I believe I hear the call
And I believe in the power of love – to change things for us all
And I believe in reachin’ out – to change what’s wrong to right
I believe in walkin’ softly – but I believe in standin’ tall
‘Cause I believe that in the end – good wins, after all
And I believe this old world’s turnin’ – but it’s turnin’ out all right
I just can’t believe you’re in my arms tonight
And I believe – And I believe
I believe – I believe
Yes, I believe – baby, I still believe

No one smiled and held me close this morning – no one softly sighed and said she cared
And no one said she’d wait for me – when I came in from working late
And now when I get home – nobody’s there
I guess she always said I’d find out someday – now she’s gone, I see the girl was right
When she said “no one makes it all alone – we’re nobody without someone...”
Oh lord, I need to be somebody tonight
And everybody needs somebody sometime
It seems we spend our whole life wishing love could work out right
But now too late I know it’s true I guess she always knew it, too
Oh lord, I need to be somebody tonight – somebody tonight
No one’s here to hear me say “I’m sorry” – ‘cause no one’s left to tell her she was right
By now she’s found somebody new to hold her close and tell her, too
Oh lord, I need to be somebody tonight
And everybody needs somebody sometime
It seems we spend our whole life wishing love could work out right
But now too late I know it’s true I guess she always knew it, too
Oh lord, I need to be somebody tonight – somebody tonight
No one left her make-up out this morning – no one used my razor and my comb
And no one’s asking where I’ve been when I’m out half the night, but then
Now when I get back – nobody’s home
If i could turn back time for just one minute – I’d whisper to her as I held her tight
And I’d say, “I won’t leave you all alone I’m nobody without someone”
Oh lord, I need to be somebody tonight
‘Cause everybody needs somebody sometime
It seems we spend our whole life wishing love could work out right
But now too late I know it’s true I guess she always knew it, too
Oh lord, I need to be somebody tonight – somebody tonight
