 The Front Porch Country Band Will Open For Randy Travis |
NORTH COUNTRY, U.S.A. - On Sunday, May 10th, The Front Porch Country Band will appear at one of the nation's premiere theaters - The War Memorial in Trenton, NJ - as the exclusive opening act for country superstar Randy Travis in his upcoming Mother's Day concert.
The Front Porch Country Band is known worldwide for its trademark "North Country" sound and its "Original American Country" stage shows and recordings. The globe-trotting band has performed on many of the world's greatest stages. Last summer, the band released their two-disc album, The World China Tour, showcasing 18 original songs from their recent 21,000-mile concert tour across mainland China. In December, the band released Christmas Once Upon A Time - The Christmas Album featuring 18 of their newest original songs of the season.
"Opening for Randy is a real kick," says Johnny Jolin, founding member and one of the three lead vocalists for the band. "We all fell in love with his music from his earliest Nashville recordings. He's a true legend - no one has ever done American Country better."
Country superstar Randy Travis has topped the charts for over 25 years and is one of the top 10 selling solo country artists of all time. Travis boasts over 21 million albums sold, producing 22 number one hits, six GRAMMY® Awards, five Country Music Awards, nine Academy of Country Music Awards, and 10 American Music Awards.
Travis' greatest hits album, "I Told You So: The Ultimate Hits of Randy Travis" was released March 17 on Warner Bros. Records. The 32-track album spans the artist's long and illustrious career and also includes two previously unreleased tracks.
Since making his debut with 1986's multi-platinum "Storms of Life," Travis has gone on to release many memorable albums including "Always & Forever," "Old 8x10," "High Lonesome," "This Is Me," "Full Circle," and "Rise and Shine." His many hits include "Forever and Ever, Amen," "Three Wooden Crosses," "1982," "Diggin' Up Bones," "He Walked on Water," "Look Heart, No Hands" and "Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart" among many others.
In addition to his extraordinary recording career, Travis has appeared in many films, television movies, and episodes of dramatic series. In 2005, he was honored with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition, Travis was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1986, and on March 15, 2008, he had the privilege of inviting Carrie Underwood to become a member of the Opry after she performed his hit song, "I Told You So."
