FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 21 September 2001 Contact: KJ Wagner or Laura Taylor at 570-523-8723 Web Site: www.frontporchcountryband.com Email: usagency@usagency.com NEW MUSICAL TRIBUTE NOW ROLLING ACROSS VALLEY AIRWAVES IN WAKE OF ATTACK TO HELP AID NATION'S DISASTER VICTIMS Lewisburg, PA Exactly one week after the terrorist attacks on The World Trade Towers, a group of Susquehanna Valley musicians has released a moving musical tribute designed to help aid America's disaster victims. "AMERICA STANDING TALL - THE AMERICAN TRILOGY" was released on 18 September 2001. The new recordings were written and produced in the aftermath of the disaster exactly one week earlier on September 11, 2001. The music is receiving airplay on area stations - and may be headed into distribution nationally. Proceeds from the sale of the special 3-song extended-play release are being directed toward the nation's disaster recovery efforts to aid the nation's disaster victims. "Like every American, all of us in The Front Porch Country Band were shocked and saddened by the devastation from the attacks on September 11, 2001," says Kim Reichley, bass player and one of the band's lead vocalists. "We felt the need to express our sentiments in our art." Drummer and guitarist Rick Buck echoes those feelings. "If we can help unite Americans through our music and allow others to reflect on this past week, we'll be humbled to have been even a small part of our country's healing and recovery," he added. "We believe in the power of music to change the world," adds Johnny Jolin, who carries the lead vocals on two the three songs on the release. "We'll be reaching out through own live concert series - 'COUNTRY ROCKS! The International Benefit Tour'." For the remainder of 2001, the band is committing proceeds from all ticket and album sales to the nation's recovery efforts. Our financial contributions are being directed to publicly-directed charities already being established regionally and nationally. The six-member band's recording style has been compared in the press to "…the sounds of John Michael Montgomery…" The players have opened for such top stars as Billy Ray Cyrus, Hank Williams III, Pam Tillis, Ernest Tubb, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire, George Jones, Diamond Rio, Lionel Cartwright, and many others. "America's Still Standing Tall Tonight" is already receiving heavy radio airplay on a growing list of radio stations in Pennsylvania. Listeners keep calling in requests for the song's uplifting and patriotic musical message. "It just seems to touch people," said one program director. All of the six members of the band are also key members of four separate performing groups well known throughout the Susquehanna Valley. All six will continue as members of their own groups while working together as exclusive recording artists with The Front Porch Country Band. Although they've played together as musicians informally for years, the six will appear together live onstage as The Front Porch Country Band for the first time following the release of their debut album "Somebody Tonight" scheduled for release next month. The band's members all reside in Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley region:
Rick Buck - Guitars & Drums Rupert and Paul share the sentiments of their band-mates. "We've created these new original recordings as a tribute to the innocent victims who died, their families, and every American who mourns our nation's loss," says Rupert, who is the husband of Alison. The two are co-owners of Green Valley Recording Studios where the songs were recorded during a non-stop 48-hour recording marathon beginning on the Sunday night after the attacks. "We just want to show our support and do our part," adds Paul. "And hopefully the music itself will touch and join the hearts of Americans." The band expects to have their new extended-play 3-song single in stores within 17-25 days. Until then, listeners may request the song from their favorite radio stations. The song can also be downloaded at the band's website www.frontporchcountryband.com.
